- Is the Contractor from the State of California?
- Is the Contractor in good standing with the Contractor's State Licensing Board? (Call 1-800-321-2752)
- Will the contractor supply references?
- Is the contractor insured?
- Will the contractor name you, the homeowner, as additional insured on the Worker Compensation Certificate?
- Will the Contractor obtain permits?
- Are the roofing materials provided by a manufacturer with a proven track record for durability and quality and free of manufacturer's seconds?
- Is the Contractor an approved applicator for your chosen roofing material?
- Will the Contractor provide daily job site supervision?
- Will the Contractor promise, in writing, to leave your home and property in a clean condition every day, free of re-roofing debris?
- Does the Contractor or company owner have a clean license history, never having conducted business under another name, or having a license revoked? Get the owner's name and inquire with the Contractor's State Licensing Board.
- Will the Contractor's material supplier provide a useful reference for the Contractor?
- Does the Contractor have a business location away from his house?
